FAMILY LAW

LIMITED SCOPE SERVICES

Coalition for Family Harmony’s Legal Services Program seeks to increase access to the family court system for self-represented litigants. We strive to provide quality, affordable legal services to family law litigants in Ventura County.

We can assist with most family law matters, including divorce, legal separation, paternity, child custody, spousal support, financial disclosures, property division, and judgments.

Services are offered on a task-by-task basis, allowing you to choose and pay only for the services you need and giving you the freedom and flexibility to maintain control over all other aspects of your case. This type of task-based service is called Limited Scope Services and is also known as Unbundled Legal Services or A La Carte Services.

All legal services are offered for a flat fee per task. Because we do not charge an hourly rate, you will know ahead of time how much your fee will be for the task you choose.

Coalition’s Family Law Attorney will provide you with legal consultation and will draft your court forms and documents for the specific tasks you select for your case. However, because we do not provide legal representation, you will remain self-represented (In Pro Per) while receiving our services and you will attend court hearings on your own.

Legal services are provided by a licensed California Family Law Attorney and legal support staff under attorney supervision.

PRO BONO SERVICES

The Legal Services Program provides Pro Bono Services at no cost to eligible survivors of domestic violence and intimate partner violence whose household income is considered extremely low based on HUD income guidelines. Pro Bono Services include filing for divorce or paternity, requesting custody orders, requesting spousal support, preparing financial disclosures, and obtaining judgments.

We offer a sliding scale to eligible survivors of domestic violence and intimate partner violence whose household income exceeds extremely low but is still considered very low based on HUD income guidelines.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDERS

There is never a charge for assistance with preparing applications for Domestic Violence Temporary Restraining Orders, regardless of income level. We provide this service at no charge to all members of the community who need assistance obtaining a TRO.
