LGBTQ+ SA & IPV COUNSELING PROGRAM
Prevention • Intervention • Support • Education
The Coalition for Family Harmony recognizes that LGBTQ+ individuals are an underserved and vulnerable population. We are excited to announce the addition of our LGBTQ+ Program. Effectively immediately, The Coalition now offers free specialized counseling services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and general counseling to individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning in Ventura County.
We are pleased to offer 10 free counseling sessions to support the mental and physical wellness of LGBTQ+ individuals. They will have access to a therapist that is well-versed on issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community with attention to the way the intersectionalities of their identities impact trauma. We are excited to collaborate with existing community partners and build on the quality of programs for LGBTQ individuals. While we have existing support groups for women, men and teenagers, we are thrilled to provide support groups for LGBTQ+ survivors (support groups are in the works).
The LGBT Program’s staff is comprised of skilled professionals with various backgrounds and areas of expertise. We have Marriage and Family Therapists whose training lies in mental wellness with attention to LGBTQ issues and staff with a research background on the systematic inequalities that impact their quality of life for many LGBTQ+ people.

WAYS TO GIVE
Our efforts are possible because of caring, compassionate individuals and organizations who believe victims deserve better and brighter futures, without violence and abuse. Thank you for choosing to support The Coalition and the families and communities we serve.
When a person exits a life of abuse, they have few, if any, possessions. Even with the promise of freedom, it is a frightening and confusing time. We seek to help ease the process of restoration as much as we can by providing counseling, comfort, and skills that can assist with the transition to a new life.
Our supporters stand at the center of every level of our restoration work. We would not be able to continue in this crucial work if it were not for your support. Thank you.
